Error whilst building cubemaps

    When I build cubemaps on my map I get this error

    " *** Error: Skybox vtf files for sky_night_01 weren't compiled with the same size texture and/or same flags!
    Can't load skybox file sky_night_01 to build the default cubemap!"

    That error can be safely ignored. The reason for it is just that most of the skybox textures in TF2 only have the top half to save on memory, but this doesn't allow the compile tools to build a default cubemap. It doesn't cause any serious problems.

    Especially since you don't want the default cubemap anyway. You want to properly build cubemaps.

    Ok, all of its working except for the water.


    Any solutions?

    What's wrong with the water? It's the first time you mention it here.
    If the water can't be seen, it (most probably; see below) means VVIS hasn't run, the most common reason for that is a leak.
    If the water doesn't work in general, make sure you've built it properly: only the top face should have the water texture, the rest must have nodraw, and the top face should be completely horizontal (or it won't render again)

    The water can be seen, It's just that the checkerboard textures are always on the water. When cubemaps are built the checkerboard textures on the water don't go away like the rest of the checkerboard textures. They remain.

    I Will try to compile and build with another water texture and see if that works. But if it doesn't i need some help with this.
