Well, I first joined this community because of the amazing video made my JackRiguel for the last contest, so I was appauled to hear that there was going to be none for this one. Well, when I asked, someone told me that I could make my own, if I wanted to. So I did. I made this all today and yesterday, which is why it looks a bit thrown together.

I would like to apoligize to DBP and Mangy, since for some reason, the areaportals on their maps stayed closed during the demos, so their maps look like shit. I decided that it would be better to release this with them mentioned in it, rather than just have 9 maps.

Furthermore, while making this I learned how to use:
-Demo recorder
-Smoother
-Adobe Premier Elements
-Youtube

So if I did anything wrong, could you please tell me?

It is still processing, so the quality will increase greatly, although not by huge levels. I am uploading an HQ one tonight, but I would actually like to play some of the maps before my internet is eaten once again!

Hmm. Well, I like that it shows a brief overview of the maps, but a few times you went "outside" the maps and it left some weird visual changes expecially in Wildfire.

The soundtrack was soulcrushing. But the overall effort was great! Thanks for going to the trouble and make another one soon!

Wonderful effort. Here are some things to make it even better:

r_portalsopenall 1 on Mangy and DBP's map, see if that helps with areaportal problems.
Use mat_specular 0 on Jimmy's map, no one needs to see his checkered textures!

Finally, there are much better free use songs out there. General rule is the older the better, cause new songs that are free use are usually shit, while old songs are out of copyright some of the time. Here is an example of a better track:

let's try and get something as classy as the last promo vid, though. That was just to get you motivated, unless you really like it.

I am not a fan of tangents song, but I will take suggestions, and il re-upload the video tomorow in HD with the new song :D

The smoothing clips through a lot of walls and doesn't show off all that much about the maps. Take short clips of several landmarks and branch them together for each map instead of giving us motion sickness by running through the whole map at light speed.

I would have done that, but I made this in about 6 hours, so I wasnt really thinking about landmarks. Although, if I had more time to do this (read: atleast a week) there would be classier music, and definatly more smooth landmarks.

What do you guys think about some of the music on this page?

I would love any suggestions, as I am finding out how ridiculously hard it is to find quality music.

The problem with most royalty free music websites is that the song pieces are written in a specific style specifically for the websites. This makes them horrible bland and soulless pieces of music. The next three songs may have differing quality, but they're from real artists at the very least. Check out the rest of the blog, it has some good stuff.

If theres one thing i hate in videos, its people clipping through walls and props with the camera, thats so ugly.

The camera speed didnt help either.
