Allo, mes amis! Ho ho ho!

Valve took a film class last week so they would be qualified to judge the many great entries in the Saxxy Awards contest! So many unfamiliar terms! Mise en scene! Auteur! Avante-garde! Montage! Even cinéma itself!

What do all of these words have in common? Un: They sound complicated enough that Valve decided they had no business judging cinéma. Deux: These words were all invented by me, Francis the Talking France! And so Valve has spared no expense in flying me tout de suite to the French-sounding town of Bellevue to judge the entries myself! C'est magnifique!

But onh-honh-honh. Why the sad French sounds? Because I see now this is too big a job for one talking France. So I am writing this poste de blog to announce that judging of the Saxxy Awards is now open to tout le monde! Le jugement est fantastique!

personally. I liked this idea. I don't like the voteing process, we sort through EVERY SUBMISSION... I'm pretty sure there is at least 10 teen's in washington who are willing to work for a weekend to do what we are doing now for min. wage...

They could least done some filtering themself, there is so many awful clips or demos and that makes whole voting thing pain in the ass.

Well.. All I hope for is that the people/valve running the show behind the scenes are shaving off these garbage clips as fast as possible. By that I mean the totally non-tf2 videos and stuff that obviously doesn't fit the category and stuff that breaks the simple rules of <1 min and so on.

If these things stay in rotation for too long, people aren't going to bother voting and we'll all get a skewed result.

I only submitted 1 clip and winning is not going to happen. But I very much would like to see real, great videos top the charts in the end.
