News: A trailer is Added to steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/1800/

My thoughts. Hmm it's hard to say, whilst In some ways it looks nice some of the weapon viewpoints look awful (by that I mean the way you see them In 3rd person). They need to make them look more like In CSS i think, and I'm going to use the AK as an example.

Maybe I can get used to that, maybe I cant, I cannot be sure yet. It just doesn't look right for me. Maybe that'll change when I play or maybe it's some odd recording effect. They'll probably have something in options to make that look nicer though. Also I cant say I like the Crosshair yet. (For those of you who dont know it's the one from beta where the box on the outside shows you where the bullets CAN hit.

So from now on Your going to be reading posotive because I think that's the only thing Im annoyed at.

So looking through the steam trailer,

I'm right in saying this is office looking from CT spawn?

I can safely say that visually it's beautiful, though at the Moment you can clearly see it's not quite ready yet, there's some animations which no doubt'll be put in E.g bomb defusal animation appears to be missing. Other than that though there's no let downs graphically and I beleive it's a huge step forward in the Counter Strike Series.

Also if you haven't seen it there's an Awesome Team menu:

The mechanics dont appear to have changed to much from CSS, you seem to still be able to pull off awesome headshots and stuff :) and it's clear some balancing has been done weapon wise.

Overall so far im very happy with how it looks and cannot wait for Octobers Beta. :D

Oh sorry for the huge images btw.

I am impressed, the maps are now less series of plain walls and feel like actual locations.

I agree so much with that. :D

A CLEAR EXAMPLE OF THAT:

A comparison between Dust CSS and Dust CS:GO

Valve is the MASTER of shared assets between games.

And sometimes it's not even with their own games:

Seriously is it just me or do that archway and that road overpass look very similar in layout?

de_dust, now with less color

That was my first thought too. :p

So, I'm going to take this off-topic a bit, but do you think this could be the future of team fortress ?
I mean, there's been a growing demand for less crap, more refinement for a while now, but Valve seems firm in their direction to keep adding stuff to the game and fixing problems later, maybe.
Do you think we could see a few years from now a team fortress "2.5" with a similar treatment (up to date engine, remade assets, re-balance from scratch all around, etc) ?

I feel like between Valve's resources and today's technology a defusal animation could be produced, but I could be wrong.

I want the player model to just wave its hands in the general direction of the bomb, so if he's crouching he could potentially be touching the bomb.
