So i bought my fiance a Wii.. and right now i have one of her friends staying with us.

Im trying to find a good 2 player Wii game that will be enjoyable and sadly really havent came up with any =(

i dislike Mario party for its simplicity and stupid games.

I'm not 4 years old so i require something more then SSB:B

Wii Play and Wii sports although fun, do not have much depth.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance was "ok" when i played it on Xbox.. i just cant do it a second time, to much repetitiveness and spam.

Those LEGO games are far to easy and lead to mind numbing boring.

I was thinking of trying Super Mario Charged, which looks like .. kinda Mega Man soccer on SNES which i did like back in the day but still it looks like typical Wii child "SPAM !!1" crap. =( /sigh

i might download Toe Jam and Earl as i think i used to like it.

Also I hear Excite Truck is decent, but ive yet to try.
Mario Kart Wii im also unsure of. i LOVE LOVE the old SNES mario kart, but because of the path the Wii takes everything, im worried =(

Which is they take good franchises games, dumb the shit out of them, make overly simple controls, zero learning curve and they reward the starter, take from the veteran.

Wii peoples, help!

Get Mario Kart Wii and Super Mario Galaxy both have 2 player components.

I played Super Mario Galaxy and it was interesting, however it really doesnt have pure 2 player fun. It Just allows a second player to use the Wii remote to collect stars =/

As a single player game it was decent, but epic fail as a 2 player game.

House of the Dead: Overkill? ;)

The Boom Blox's are pretty fun multiplayer, too.

If memory serves: SM Charged was a sequel to the one for the Gamecube, and it's actually pretty good. Most of the Mario sports games are, although I think the tennis one's the best out of the lot.

If you don't particularly like the people you're playing with, Dokapon Kingdom might work.

While it's talking about the DS version...

Still holds true. It's like the board game Diplomacy in that, in the end, you're probably going to want to rent a wood chipper to deal with your "friends" when it's done.

Boom blox Boom blox Boom blox. They released a sequel too, I guess get that one.

Boom blox looks like a kids game, but it's probably the most fun thing on the wii right now.

the wii kinda has been targeted more towards the younger gaming crowd. im not surprised you're finding it difficult to find games that are geared to an older audience on the Wii.

Ya the sequel is a ton of fun, but atm its not the exact fun im looking for. Its a great party game but im looking for more depth.

You suck =(

I also heard The Conduit is a pretty good multiplayer FPS. Its multiplayer is goldeneye-esque run and gun. Apparently the controls are top-notch, too.

It looks interested but i read it doesn't have split screen or co-op split screen.

Mario Strikers Charged is one of my favourite Wii games. It's a sort of mindless game where you care more about hitting people and cramming the ball into the net as hard as you can rather than any technical skills, but it also has depth if you get into it. Very fun if you like football (soccer) games but don't like how tame and overly deep they are.

Also I hear Excite Truck is decent, but ive yet to try.

Excite Truck is not good. It's fun for a weekend playthrough alone, but multiplayer is crap (it boils down to each player concentrating on doing tricks on their own).
Mario Kart Wii has been a little ruined by its focus on helping bad players etc (blue shells that are guaranteed to hit the first place racer, etc), so it's not fun if you want to play a semi-skilled game. However, it's a fantastic party game.
Speaking of Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 is available on the Virtual Console. And so is Super Mario Kart, I think.

Out of the other multiplayer games I have, I can recommend Metal Slug Anthology (amazing fun for arcade shooter fans - all 7 Metal Slug games are included), SSX Blur (snowboarding, overall a fun and somewhat relaxing game) and... uhh, Punch-Out!!, I guess? Punch-Out!! is more of a (fantastic) single player game, but it does have multiplayer...

EDIT: You may also want to check out Wii Sports Resort or any other games that come with Wii MotionPlus (that makes the game react to your controller movements literally 1:1), such as one of those tennis games. I forgot its name. :p

So i just rented mario kart Wii and omg..

its pure shit.

a 2 year old could beat me, its nothing but holding down one button and turning hoping to get something decent out of a box, i could have done it with my eyes closed... why did they have to wreck this great game =(

If you've never played Mario Kart Wii but love the series...save yourself and don't.

This.

And if you thought that was bad, DOkapon Kingdom is hundreds of times worse. There is no skill involved whatsoever.

I personally love the Metal Slug anthology for Wii. If you know they like 2d sidescrolling shooters, then that's great =D

Only drawback is the controls for grenade throwing usually rely on moving the controller/waving it frantically, which is a LOT unlike an arcade game.

It's fun, and you get the 5-ish old Metal Slug games and a 6th one. Only supports 2 players, as far as I know, even though the box seems to say 1-4.

Keep in mind that the Wii can play GameCube games. Buy Super Smash Bros. Melee, it's a must-have.

What. Mario kart wii is fucking awesome. It's the best mario kart game

I think you're the only person in the world who thinks this. Seriously, MK:Wii is the worst of the series. My favorite happens to be DS but the one generally regarded as the best(among the hardcore players) is still MK64.

Also I know it's been suggested, but Boom Blox. That game is so much fun with parties. Also, Geometry Wars on the Wii is also pretty fun.
