...if the Spy flicked his knife around like he does in this early trailer?

It's at 1:33 - 1:35. I'm assuming he would have done this all the time and not just before a backstab.

Does anyone else think that this would be cool to have in the game? Maybe someone could make it as a mod, but not me as I have no clue how

i think the spy only does that flick when taking out the knife. That manuever is done to take the blade out of the handle, not to be fancy and backstab someone. The reason the stab now is only just toss it up and stab is because he's holding it blade out to swipe, then needs to switch it to blade in (toward him) so he can stab downward with it. The crazy flicking trick is to get the blade from its folded (protected position) to stabbing position. As in meet the spy when the scout flicks out the knife. If he did this flicking manuever every stab he'd just be doin useless flicks of the knife.

i think....i'm no expert of butterfly knives

I just noticed that the Spy's "job" is "Cloak and Dagger", the pyro didn't get a title card, and the medic was entirely absent.

On the subject of the backstab animation- it isn't hard enough to get a backstab already, we really need a three second animation (VALVe already shortened it, and with good reason).

If you linked the switching to the knife with a raise backstab you would get that.

Also, you guys probably know what I'm going to say, but Valve has some other stuff to work on before they do this cosmetic stuff.

You can also notice the DEEP MASCULINE VOICE OF THE PYRO when he gets batted.

No, he's just hiding.
Check the part when the scout runs into the base, the medic is standing behind the crates near the sewer stairs exit :)

Nice catch. So he's there and doesn't have a title card, like the pyro, but doesn't even get featured in the action.

Wow, forgot about that video. I wonder if Valve would reconsider that dynamite bomb in the video as his new unlockable.

I doubt anyone would bother using it, not anyone used to the class already atleast. Not when they can just strafe corners going D-mouse1-A-D-mouse1-A-D-mouse1-Mouse2 to take out any sentries, and still have a fully fledged assualt weapon to bare afterwards. Especially since i would only see it as a one off recharge thing to stop it from being abused. Although it would be awesome against a defencive position stuffed full of heavy medic combo's.

I'm hard pushed to imagine an alternative to either the sticky or grenade launcher. I imagine they might just alter the dynamics of the weapon like Natascha. EMP stickies or something. They damage buildings, even through walls but only effect buildings, not players. Or something.

Whenever I play Spy, I have this urge to switch between sapper/revolver and the knife, making it look like he's just flicking the knife all over the place. :p

I'm sure no one except Spy haters would be happy to see this animation introduced, though, no matter how awesome it is - because it takes ages to finish.

It would be awesome if he did it randomly while walking, but it could be interupted.
