I've decided to stop mapping. Mainly because I don't get the satisfaction from it anymore as I used to back in the day. I'll still try to finish Quetzal to final release, but that's about it. Although I have some projects left which I felt would be a shame if they were just tossed out of the window. Two of those projects are very early in development and basically consists out of 1/2 areas, but I feel like their design can work. The other projects were heading towards a fully fledged map, but I hit a roadblock that frustrated me to no end, so maybe someone else would conquer this roadblock...

If you plan to take over the torch for one of these projects, let me know in the comments. You don't have to have prior mapping experiences to adopt these maps.

Obviously based on Hydro. Never got further than designing the spawn. Probably too detailed for an alpha map, but I'm sure the layout of spawn can work. The idea was going to be where a shortcut would be overflown by water and bots could drain it, to open it up.

A map that already has been tested a few times. The inspiration for this map came from the Belgian city, Bruges. I'm sure the layout in its current state works fine. It even got to the detailing stage. But regardless of what I did, I never felt happy with the results and it only caused more frustration, so yeah...

A map that already got tested. It works quite well, at least better than I expected, but will still require some changes. I started this map with good confidence, but halfway through, I realized I simply just do not enjoy alpha testing. I only enjoy the detailing part of the map. Map has gone quite far to simply let it rot on my storage, that's why I'm posting it here if someone's interested.

I am interested in adopting the Hydromvm map, particularly because of your shortcut idea.
I have released my own map (mvm_infuse) with this shortcut idea, and would like to take on this as a mapping opportunity/ experience.
This is a super rough idea I have with a big dam in the middle with a huge sewer grate the robots open as a shortcut to the bomb site.

I'd like to explore twists to the Hydro idea, but I do intend to keep general theme and shortcut idea.

I'm sure this is common to adopt another's child (map), so you don't think I'm a poser otherwise:
I have released MvM_Infuse fully working and populated with 2 missions
I have extensive AI familiarity mapping for a (private) 5 map campaign for Left 4 Dead 2, fully playable.
And I have demonstrated the patience to fully detail an original level (ze_jungle_lab)

Never adopted before, but I would like to take care of this map.

I don't really mind if the person has a lot of experience or not. If they're interested in adopting the map and as long as the vmf proves useful to them, you're free to cotinue working on the map.

I realized that alpha mapping, or mapping in a gameplay sense really isn't my cup of tea and that I'd rather focus on detailing instead.
So this will probably be my last playable map. I don't think I'll quit mapping (again), but focus more on making nicely detailed environments. Maybe participate in one of those detailing contests, if one ever gets organized again.

Hello there Dayal, I see that your cup of tea is detailing and i have this map that i have finished but it needs work on the detailing front, would you like it help me on the detailing? The map is called Chopper and its the theme is sawmill and the main building is a wood cutting museum where the company who owns the building is showing off how they would cut the wood and turn it into planks, They have the showcases/ displays within the walls to show it off. It also a front for some spy tec as well. Its hidden but not well hidden back area that contains the spy tec.

The map is been tested over at Potatoes mvm severs and it already have a few missions created for the map. If you are intrested within this map just post a comment on my steam account or here if you want to do this.
