On the note of Frostbite, these are from Dice's latest Battlefront map, released this week: http://imgur.com/a/dwxV2
(which features absolutely zero destruction)

I believe that's the game I played. Source can only dream of environment fidelity like that. I really have no idea of how engines are coded, so pictures like that always floor me.

Having a budget the size of the GDP of most small countries and spending 99% of it on making the game look pretty probably doesn't hurt.

And that leftover 1% is put into marketing, so game is bugged and almost unplayable

I've got to say, I was also really impressed with the ceilings in nuke, which my friends apparently thought was weird, SMH. Trying to use it as inspiration in my map, but usually I find over using ceiling props in TF2 makes it look a mess. I think they did some really good work here using the lighting to make sure it was kept out of focus, but also due to the props fitting together a bit better than they do in TF2, being new props and all.

Having said that, it's made me start working again, I think working on a project like that would be a dream job for me. Hoping I ever get that good. :)

Yeah, tf2 gets weird if you try adding too much detail (see pl_hatfactory), I think 2fort's intel and badland's last are good examples for fancy ceilings in TF2.

TF2 Maps that use quality detailing over quantity detailing usually end out on top.
