I was disappointed to find out that l4dmaps.net was taken down. Is there a sister site for portal/portal 2 maps?

If so, can someone link me?

If not, any of the site staff know if its a possibility? or maybe even a dedicated branch of tf2maps?

I like the format of tf2maps.net over other sites and would like to map under a similar community for portal 2.

EDIT:

I found this site: http://www.portal2maps.net/

Any connection? Seems rough and doesnt have the same site structure as TF2Maps.

TWP is waht you're looking for.

The idea of running a Portal2maps.net under the tf2maps.net "brand name", so to speak, was considered but decided it was too much work for too little gain.

But portal2maps.net exists. Though it doesnt loko like its under the tf2maps "brand" as you said.

But if tf2maps ever thinks of actually going for it, I think they can go with p2maps.net which is an even stronger connection since it uses the abbreviation teh same way as tf2maps.net.

Having said that, you guys should probably reserve the name at least. You never know...

Neh, the new Portal 2 mapping tools will allow maps to be shared through the Steam Cloud, in much the same way the Steam Workshop is. With that kind of thing coming up, there's really no point to make a new site.

Yeah but the site isnt only about uploading/accessing maps. Its community, questions, answers, tutorials, competitions, innovation, testing sessions.

You could even argue that tutorials and information are found in the valve wiki, or other sites, but the site still offers other things. It offers everything together as well.

Even so, ThinkingWithPortals.com has all that covered already. It just wouldn't be viable, really, to go now and try to wedge into that venue when other sites have already been around since Portal 1.
