The 2024 Smissmas update has finally dropped! Not only have valve put gifts under the trees and plenty of coal in the stockings, but the Freeze Tag team are here to deliver a little present of our own to the community, to give back to you all for being for the most part Nice and only a little bit Naughty this year!

Started on the 17th of October 2023, Freeze Tag is the culmination of over a year's worth of rigourous testing, iteration, and back-and-forths from the Freeze Tag Team (myself, @Sarexicus , @Le Codex , and @Yrr ) and now that the Smissmas 2024 update for TF2 has dropped (with a woeful lack of Freeze Tag included) we're very pleased to finally be able to release the prefab to the community for public use!

Here you will find everything you need to create your own Freeze Tag map, such as custom models, sounds, the script itself, a license (very important for us) as well as a handy dandy helpful guide to tutorialise you through the process of installing the game mode onto a map. The folder this unzips as can go straight into your tf/custom folder. Don't unzip into your custom, the zip contains the files directly.

Please note that the variants listed above all function exactly the same, gameplay-wise. It's just a different coat of paint is all (like using a different payload cart model, for example), so if you want to make, for instance, a Halloween Freeze Tag map, we'll have you covered (just use a different version for now though because, as mentioned above, it's not done yet).

While we have done our best to make the installation process as easy to follow as possible, I'm more than certain that some of you will find a new edge case that we hadn't thought of yet. In this case, or if you would just like more hands on help, or just to talk about Freeze Tag some more, we have a discord server that we used during the course of its development. We'll be available to offer you help if you need it, or if you just wanna post wips of a map you're working on etc.
