Spiral Mountain b3
Spiral Mountain from Banjo-Kazooie recreated for TF2!
Spiral Mountain, old friend! Mountains can't be friends...
One of the few retro 3D levels that's been memorized fondly for the unique art style of its time period and amazing platformer of a game with its many worlds, followed by beating down grunty's butt into the ground!Another BK map of mine that has been worked on for a while, being one of the first projects I've ever started and planned on, being way back in 2020. It wasn't in a proper playable state up until now.
What does the map currently have?
- Spiral Mountain, Banjo's House, and entirety of Gruntilda's Lair.
- Custom background music, sounds and particle effects.
- Beehives, feathers, eggs, honeycombs, mumbo tokens.
- Cauldrons, and teleport shortcuts for certain rooms.
- Brentilda, and Cheato.
- Mumbo's transformations.
What's left on the to-do list?
- Adding enemies for spiral mountain and gruntilda's lair, if plausible.
- The last of any missed collectables.
- Add the last few of Mumbo's transformations.
List of general mechanics that has, will, and continue to appear in this and other BK maps of mine:
- Saved progress of certain collectables across maps
- Flight pad launching players upward with temporarily increased air movement and mark for death (who would want to watch demos, soldiers, or heavies fall from the sky as they punch bullets into you?)
- Shockjump pad launching players upward with temporarily increased air movement
- Arrow-textured wall buttons on certain geometry for launching oneself to higher platforms
- Custom launch pads for getting onto much higher platforms when originally impossible due to use of double-jump and flight disc game mechanics
Known issues:
- Z-clip fighting on certain level geometry.
- Some vscript code can mostly function until they cannot, with some missing.
- Certain ledges and grounds are hard to reach for slow classes.
- Missing Wadding Boots and Running Shoes.
