Amber's getting some new last point areas. Reduced by 288 units!

Rather than attempting to get good at making fun layouts, I spent a bit trying to make a good looking RED building...

That little extending part on the right definitely needs some supports under it. I would also extend the roofs to overlap the sides of the buildings a bit more (8-16units) and make the roofs into displacements. You could also inset the windows a little in to the geometry to give it that "I am a real building and not just a box with windows glued on it" look.

I was gonna add supports to the little outcrop, but I forgot about it because I was having problems with the shadows. The roofs are also sticking out by 8 units.

I'm going to use this pic as a general thing to comment on people using the Frontline assets. I'm by no means a mapper so I might be completely off here but anyways,

Imo people use the cobblestone textures in too large quantities, having the big slabs of cobblestone just makes stuff look pretty noisy. I don't know if this something that will be adressed in later versions of the map, but I see it a lot. If you look at stuff like Rotenburg for example a lot of the cobblestone roads are mixed with the much flatter dirt blends/dirt road stuff making it less cluttered on the eyes. The same can be said for the brick walls, though less of an issue it might be better to combine it with the plaster more (in this case it should be fine with the buildings in the background).

And for this image specifically (though I've seen it more often) PLEASE use the barbed wire end pieces, it looks very strange with the barbed wire now cuttin off in mid air

Adding to the other posts: your roofs look pretty thick. I recommend 4hu thick roofs.

The feel when no clue how to connect last to second and this empty void of no ideas is just waiting to be filled.

If you stare long enough at the void, the void will stare back, then you just make strange decisions.

I'm currently making a reskin of Cactus Canyon called Crystal Canyon, an "abandoned"/ Mayan themed map:

It's obviously not done, as I have 2 other stages to do too....and I have to fix the skybox a bit as it is very wasteful currently.

(blindly taking these paths might be a bad idea - but it should at least get you going - colors are for simplicity of explaining diffirent ideas)

That screenshot is half the filesize of the map it's taken of.

Uncompressed, it's 4x the size.
