Protip: full vvis makes vrad faster in CSGO. By how much, I'm not sure, but from what I saw there's little point in using fast vvis for a lighting test.

I had a same thoughts, and I actually compiled it couple times with full vvis and vrad compile time was the almost same for me.

It looks like your shadows are at a resolution of 1 or 2. It makes for gorgeous shadows, but that is what is making vrad take so long, and it will make your map file huge.

EDIT: I have an idea: Make the areas wth the edges of the shadows separate brushes with the high resolution shadows, and the rest with much lower resolution. It will take some time and effort, but it might end up looking nearly the same, but with much faster compile time and a smaller file size.

Actually those sharp shadows are a result of CSM (cascade shadow mapping) - not lightmaps. CSM doesnt contribute to the compile time much if at all so its not that.

i7 3610QM. CS:GO have more advanced lighting, that's why compile time is much longer. Plus, my map have a lot of props and lighting sources.

no I mean, csgo has a bug that makes the compile time much slower with vrad the more cores your CPU has. No way the compile is supposed to take 2 days.

OMG, thank's a lot. I really though, that maybe something wrong, because my TF2 maps compile time usually takes about less than hour, but yeah 50+ hours, that's waaaaaaay to long, I blame my self for not using google, lol, i'm so lazy.
And thanks Valve :\

Not even that, even with the same CPU he's getting half the compile time for VRAD.

Valve, time for an update :)

@Flower_Shop_Guy how many cores/threads are you at?
