Playing around with using blocks of light and dustmotes from the broken roof. I think I made the light glow on the bulbs a bit strong though.

I really need to fix a RED spawn problem (everyone appears on BLU spawn [I actually haven't tried with bots... ugh] until BLU captures the first point. Then both spawns work "properly". I also need to fix one of the spectator camera,and maybe some lights? And the fact that you can only play the first round ONCE if BLU wins... yeah...

But still,I might be able to post an A1S1 tomorrow. YAY! *happines intensifies*

This point is going to be miserable for both teams to play. It's just a big corridor with the point at the end. There's no flank routes, no cover, and the spawn door is easily camped.

There are 2 exits and 1 flank route (it's basically an "extension of the "corridor"",enough to kill the sentry from far away)

The map is already up and running. Sort of. You can find it here.

The point he was making is its tiny and boring. Needs more real geometry and play space, not just 2 ramps a few doors.

It's an A/D CTF map. You know the drill: When someone with the briefcase reaches the point,it will be capture instantly. They're not going to stand there for 1-2 minutes.

Either way,I'm still trying to fix ALL THE THINGS. When I'm finally done,I want to post it on a Gameday and get some feedback.

Some paths (or ALL the paths) might be perfect for ME,but that doesn't mean it's perfect for everyone else.

Hey buds. My mapping skills are super rusty, so any improvements or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of making an Attack/Defense map that's basically a giant three story tower, but it's super open to change. Here's the design I've scratched up. The main concerns here are that snipers are basically useless, and engies could be OP, so I'm trying to take that into consideration. You're more than welcome to edit my image (in pink, please!) in order to show where you think things should be added!

Have you released anything yet? Looks great.

Not yet, I know it's kinda silly to artpass a layout that hasn't been tested, but I've had like almost 4-year break from mapping and detailing is what I've been longing for the most, it's what made me come back. I've had a layout concept that has been growing in my head for quite a while, so I blocked out one point and started detailing. It's gonna be a single stage payload, I'm almost done with A and B, C, D is gonna look like a proper, blocky, dev-textured alpha 1. Unfortunately, I'm having some hard time on the university now so it's probably gonna take around 2-3 weeks until I'll have something playable.


Anyway, here are some more screenshots:

Off to some complete rework of the third point

The pictures are showing the current progress since im struggling with finding any idea for that part of map, since,well several months. That's why i do it like shown on the sketched picture. A pit, waterfall, high differences and a base for red.

Some parts still need work(second picture as an exp.) and a lot of cover, medkits, metal etc.

And i need to learn how to correctly use displacements.
