We're working on an RC2 of Stoneyridge, with the mission "delete visual noise."

I'm not sure about the changes to the spawn area, and I probably offended Crash by completely removing some detail brushing he probably spent like a week making because he's obsessive like that.

But doing quick estimates with RC1, along with some improved hint brushes and mass prop deletions I'm seeing about a 15% increase in framerates. Some spots are significantly higher than that. So that's always nice.

The whole thing is massively dark, make sure you light it all up properly.

Uuuugh. Of course my luck, some of my map files became corrupt. And of course, the one I can't get back is the best project I've been working on.

Oh well. Time to fix the kinks this time around.

You know the .vmx files are backups and if you rename then to .vmf you got your map back? :eek:

I know, a ton of my game files (Only games that run on Source Engine though, wtf.) Got corrupted, even the vmx got corrupted. -.-

My other detail entry, spent so long just getting it under the tjunct limit so much of the detailing isn't finished sadly. Water is temporary obviously :)

Do you have normal mapping turned off or just reeeaaallllly flat lighting on those bricks??

The brick texture is valve's and I know they use normals, but sometimes they turn on and sometimes not. Same with the color correction, sometimes it looks really dull other times it looks normal. Don't know why. I run tf2 at maximum settings.

Started a bit of small detailing on my 72hr map. Quick question, right now that ibeam texture (dark gray around top) is an overlay. Would it be better if it were a separate brush? Gorge usees brushes, but I didn't want to commit to that in case I change it in the near future.

Brushes. If you ever cut any of the wall brushes, you'll have to go back through and re-affix all of the overlays to the new brushes you create. Its a pain in the butt, and it makes the red/blue stripes on process/gorge a painnnnnnn. For rooftop I did away with them entirely, using the brown/darkblue computer textures instead.
