They're actually 16x16, but is 8x12 the gold standard? If so, :O

I started with a layout on paper, with varying levels of success. I've deviated a bit since then since my proportions aren't very...proportional. I would have used graph paper, but I was (and, to a lesser extent, still am) not so familiar with the conventions of TF2 with regards to maps and room/hallway/whatever size.

Like I said, it's a learning experience. :D

cp_(not yet named) pretty much doing 4 environments: Forest, Desert, Swamp, Snow. Also the first map I've put in over a months work on -_-

A crane has been suggested and is in the works here, however I don't think you will be able to use it until after the artpass contest.

If you use PakRat auto, it'll Pak everything sans model textures (/me shakes fist). Chances are you have some custom stuff anyway, so Pak it just to be sure.

Anyone interested in moldeing a steamboat? :3 I've also decided the only bit that really needs to explode would be the deck, I could use physics props and breakable walls etc for the rest.

Inside will be barrels/crates of dynamite etc. The test was just to see how a brush based boat would look really.

i like the conveyor belt, and the layout seems solid. texturing seems a tad bland for me, but i dunno.

Thanks for feedback, and of course the textures are subject to change. Detail is pretty much limited to brushwork at the moment, will probably shape up as soon as I have the layout more hammered out. Expect some nice dev textures in the next stage, though :D
