Finally, I managed to do some work on my map. The BLU spawn is now in the process of being remodeled. Thoughts so far?

EDIT: On a related note, why is there only one texture of blue corrugated metal?

There are more but I've never seen the one you're using in the texture browser.

EDIT: woah, it's not flagged as "tf"....

Anyway : if you see a metal wall tf texture that looks flat in the editor, it will probably look like corrugated metal in-game. Hammer doesn't display bump maps.
So the metal/wall016 and metal/wall014 series are just what you're asking for.

Are you using the one meant for roofs? It looks like you are. That would be the reason, by the way: It wasn't meant to be used for anything except roofs.

Thanks, guys. The canon for the base is that they took over a RED storage building at the edge of the facility and hastily spray-painted it blue.

Unless you guys have any objections (I've learned my lesson since last time), I shall upload this to the Models section shortly.

E: Use the Phong shininess seen in the RED bomb and apply it to the BLU bomb in your head. I toned it down by .1 in the VMT because I found it a tad too bright of a reflection for wrapping paper, and I took the pictures of the BLU bomb before I did so.

Nice bombs, Mobster. I find the giant novelty gift tag particularly amusing.

On a side note, wasn't somebody here working on this?

I wanted to make a Christmas payload cart, too. But sadly my 3ds max skills aren't that great. Anyway I really like the gift tag. Maybe you could add a quote of the heavy like the other carts. I hope you understand what I mean, my grammar isn't really good yet.

I'm not sure if the reason I don't have a problem with this is because I'm actually ok with it or if it's because I saw this first when I opened the thread. Either way, the silhouette is close enough to what it should be, aside from the tag, which sticks out horribly, so lose that. Otherwise you seem to be missing smoothing groups on the smoke stack and pressure canister.

But... The tag's my favorite part.. D:
And yeah, I just noticed the smoothing groups didn't seem to be on there. Will fix.

I do. There is a Heavy quote on there, if you read the gift tag: "Don't run! It's just ham!"

If the tag was flush with the side of the cart...?

Maybe.

It just sticks out way too much, if you want to keep it that bad maybe make it smaller, and give it colours that don't make it stick out horribly from the rest of the cart.

I've moved the gift tag over to be tucked in between the bomb and the cart itself and added the smoothing groups into the string, smokestack, and pressure canister.

Sel, what do you mean? All the colors have been pulled from the TF2 color palette, for the wrapping paper (although the stripes were actually pulled from a TF2 texture), string, text, and gift tag. Besides, gift tags typically tend to be about the same sort of color as the ones I used.

...That, and I seem to have lost my .psd source file. D:

It's not a matter of them not being on the colour palette it's a matter of the beige not fitting at all with the red/blues of the bomb wrapping.
