Its the same thing as 2f2f donation's its just that you get different stuff and its open 24/7. Anyway you get most of the donation stuff when you reach 500 posts.

Well, i remember a couple privilages had been taken away from 500+ post users and restricted back to VIP only. Probably because it made VIP status more of a distinction and kept a couple of features as a reward; as otherwise unless you were really generous anyway, there wasn't much incentive to donate.
edit: If it bothers people that much, it's only a couple dollars for a month VIP and then the settings stay saved when your VIP runs out (at least that happened with my avatar).

If you edited your avatar after you lost v.i.p. status the change is subject to the regular member privilages. IE the smaller avatar size.

I think and hope that there will be some more changes. Because i don't see almost anything on the front page, and such a small avatar? pff...
I'd rather live with the dogbread/engineer hybrid avatar for the rest of my life.
Previously, users with at least L6 could upload a big avatar, now we can't do it

more changes are coming, im not sure if avatar size will be included though. ill make a post when ive finalized things. for now, enjoy your shiny new badge.
