Just to tell you, game aside, that func_illusionary is Valve's official solution for creating many of the lights in game. And it got personally offended by your post.

And I too use it quite often for that job. And it didn't ever fail me.

And it is helpful. At least, it tries as hard as it can.

Many times, you don't even notice it. You just walk by, running from some crazy pyromaniac, and miss a huge func_illusionary right outside the window. You would never see it, and you would only ever become aware to it's genius placement, once it would be gone.

And no counterpart can replace it for me, and even not for you.

Deep in your heart, you know that it can't be replaced. Even you would miss it. Every time you would mistype "i" into the entity textbox, it will just stay empty. With not a single entity name to somewhat hide the emptiness in the textbox, and the emptiness in your heart.
