Bugbears:

'quote' popup covers the lines below and makes reading things hard if you're a compulsive text-selecter while you read. (Move it to the right side of the post where there's definitely no text to overlap?)

This:

The BB code editor version of the post editor has NO TOOLS AT ALL when it probably should have all the same tools that the WYSIWYG editor has.

Is there a division in the new-posts window like there used to be for "posts after this line aren't new, but you haven't read them"?? I really like that line because it tells me instantly what's actually a new post and what isn't.

There seems to be no way to increase the posts-per-page value like the old forum had. I'd like to be able to bump up the number from the default value please!

Ok about this auto-posting formatting:
autopostformat.JPG

The pink jaggies mark wasted space. The quotation box provides plenty of padding, the blank lines are just a bit much.

The "Read the rest of this update entry..." is twofold redundant.
A) because there isn't actually any more to this update
B) The title of the update is a link to exactly the same destination
It also reeks of automated content which eeeehhhhhh rreeeaaaalllly rubs me the wrong way.

Lastly the "YM updated <thread title> with a new update entry:" feels really weird because it's posted as though it's MY account that made the post. So we're all going to be talking about ourselves in the 3rd person now? Can we change it to something more neutral like "<Thread title> has been updated with a new entry:"

Finally to round everything off: Can we get this as an optional thing when we post an update to a resource? Preferably with the chance to format the post before it's posted rather than having to edit the post after it's made on our behalf.

I agree with YM, I'd like to at least be able to edit that before it goes live, or even choose not to post it.

Also I'm noticing people already uploading multiple maps that have threads and creating duplicate threads. Maybe add a temporary big red text thing on the Add Resource page?

Also maybe we should modify the gameday submission format...? Threads and downloads are the same now, at least, in theory.

Fr0z3n thinks this is a fine idea. Fr0z3n doesn't know what YM is talking about.

The multiple map things is something that we'll have to look into. I'll see if I can make a notification or alert or something for resource users who are importing assets to check to make sure it hasn't been imported already.

As for gameday, that is up to those who host the gameday how to work the format.

Clicking on a thread's title takes me to the last page I've read, which is pretty annoying. If I've read all of the posts and want to go to the end, I'll click the "Last Message" part. If I haven't read all the posts, there's a little envelope that serves the same purpose.

On the "New Posts" list, the subforum is written very small after the author and timestamp. I'm dyslexic, so this is very hard for me to quickly pick out the subforum from the rest of the text there. I didn't have that problem on the old forum format because the subforum was in its own column.

There's a lot of wasted space between the thread name and the "Replies" column... is there any possibility of having the subforum info be moved there, and made a slightly larger font?

I don't understand the file uploader part... does that mean that normal users can't upload files to the site for now?

Do you mean the resources? That's open to everyone. The server uploader (that used to be (and still will be) restricted to VIP+Staff) is not yet ready for the new version of the forum.

Essentially: Nothing has changed, permissions wise.

Are the maps resources? Since I have no idea when it comes to that stuff tbh :D

Yes, user-made maps are classed as 'Resources', oddly.

The idea is that maps, models, textures, elephants, etc all made by us guys (the users) are resources and all use the same system. Which is why they're not called "maps"

Changed to:

(hopefully, might need to change it in the master language too)

There's no option to do that.

Ahhh ok, that's loads better then.
Still think "Read the rest of this update entry..." could be reworded into something way better
