Has anyone else had problems getting TF2 to start since this update?

I keep getting the old "HL2.exe has stopped working" error during launch.

I've tried verifying the game files and reinstalling TF2, neither of which worked. :/

I always get that. Hit space as soon as your screen turns black. For some reason I get that error whenever I let valves logo play.

then you could try adding -novid to the game launch parameters?

after much farting about I renamed my team fortress folder and let the game unpack a fresh set of files. That fixed it up a good'un.
