Spawns set to any team not working.

I'm trying to make a huge map where players spawn randomly, (Hence why I set the spawn points to "any".) but when I go in game to test it by spawning bots, they always spawn in the first spawn point that was added, even if there's several others to spawn in.

(I also noticed I spawn in the same spawn point too, so I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem with the bots.


But I have noticed that whenever I added a bot, I would get this message:

EntSelectSpawnPoint(): No valid spawns for class #TF_Class_Name_Engineer on team 3 found, even though at least one spawn entity exists.


How can I fix this?

It could be an error in the logic, I've had everyone spawn in the same spot because of something I did in a logic_auto or something.

I don't know what exactly that error is, but I'm getting the same thing on a test map I made that has nothing but two spawnpoints in the same spot, set to Any Team, and a respawnroom trigger. Perhaps that's the problem since my other maps don't have a 'same spawnpoint used by both teams' and thus doesn't report these messages.

perhaps do spawnpoints set to a single team, clone it to the exact same place and make the second one the opposite team. It should have the same effect

I didn't touched anything on it, I just simply added it and nothing else.

I haven't added any respawnroom triggers either, I just scatter all these spawn points all over the place.






Also sorry if I sound silly, I'm still very new to this whole mapping thing.

Dumb question, but the spawns aren't directly on the ground right?
I tried that and the player just fell through:p. Try floating the spawns 1 HU up

Maybe not 1 HU, but they are off the ground. I guess that's the problem?

it shouldn't be a problem. In fact, you want to raise them a bit above the ground. like 8 units just to be save.

If spawnpoints colide with anything solid they won't be enabled or won't work correctly as players would be stuck. This happens oftens when you place spawns on uneven displacements.

8 HUs? That's a bit high off the ground. .-.

Hmm, all of them were off the ground not touching anything. Looks like I'll be testing out some things today.

perhaps you have a brush enclosing the area?

Not sure what you mean, but I'm just gonna test some random things.
I mean as in, you might have a large brush(the blocks you map with) covering the area where they spawn

Doesn't appear to be.

No matter where the spawn point is on the map, the player will still spawn there as long as the spawn point was the first one there.

And when I tried out other areas where it worked before, they won't work for some reason.

Maybe you could upload the .VMF so people could have a closer look at it or something?
