I use fraps. I BOUGHT fraps for this one!

...still the quality ended up so bad because of windows movie maker..

You kinda got owned. The source engine has its own version of FRAPS built in.

Also there is an awesome program server admins can run called sourceTV which can record games and you can zoom around the map while you play it back. Its great.
