OK, so I am making a map for the CTF contest, and was going to try it out. Lo and behold, there is a totally random block about half way up my map. IT covers the whole area of it, and clips through static props. I can walk through it. It does, however block light.

What am I doing to make this happen? It does not exist in Hammer.:O

Sounds like an invalid solid. Use the problem checker to get rid of it.

Can't you just delete it? If it's an invalid solid, it should be right where you saw it in-game next time you load the map in Hammer.

Or you did something wrong with the 3D skybox.

I have no 3D skybox. It does not appear in Hammer.

Does your compile log show any errors?

Invalid brush 100%. Restart Hammer several times, it'll show up.

An invalid brush should show up in hammer regardless...

Use "check for problems" under "map" tab from the menu toolbar. You'll see if you have any invalid brushes there.

If you do, click "go to" which will select it automatically for you, and then hit your delete key. Clicking "fix" tends to give you a mess that's more trouble than it's worth.

Also if it's non-solid it's probably set to func_illusionary, so check the Entity Report for any of those.
