Question about .pop files

I've been working on an mvm map, and I've integrated a .pop file into it, but how does sharing the map work?

Is the .pop file essentially baked into the bsp when the map is played with the mission? Or does the .pop file need to be included in downloads?

The fact of the matter is--Yes, you can pack the .pop file into the map and it will still work.

The only problem with this I've noticed if you want to change anything in the .pop file, you have to repack the entire map. You're probably going to be kicking yourself if you need to change the mission or anything.

I see. So I have to manually pack the file?

I said you CAN pack it and it will work. You don't have to do it, because only the server needs the .pop information. Plus it's just easier to edit and makes life easier if you don't pack it into the map.
