New Map PUG Group

Hey waxpax. May I plug my KOTH map, Skylab? It's quite small and focused, so I think would naturally suit 6v6 more than the 24+ players it's generally been run with on pubs. I'd be really interested to see how it plays in comp.

I actually have b2 of Skylab on the server it looked interesting but I thought the rather cramped hallways would make heavy and pyro really powerful, and, generally comp players don't like when like that happen. I'll put your latest version up on the server though and see if people are willing to play it.

Played cp_process and koth_peaks tonight until the widespread crashes ended the night early.

Also, because Sourcemod broke and I didn't have the foresight to realize that the auto-record plugin would be broken, I wasn't able to get any stv's for tonight. Thankfully, both, Scropio and Languid were in the server tonight spec'ing the PUGs.

Played cp_spurn_point with 24 people tonight.

The pug group is looking to hold a 12v12 tournament to drum up some interest, play a map that we normally couldn't in 6s, and just to have a little fun. We're currently looking for the map we want to use for that and seeing if it's even logistically possible to have a tournament with teams that big. There will be some prizes and stuff as well, but I'll fill in the details at a later date when everything is more solid.

Ran some more pugs this weekend, but, I think I'm going to stop bumping this thread every time we pug because it's depressing to be the only person posting in it. Pugs will continue, and I'll update the OP with the maps we pug, but I'll wait for someone else to bump this thread.

Did you guys ever do b4 of cp_antiquity? I saw feedback for b3, but never b4. Changes to last as far as attack/defense options go.

I don't think I've looked at b4 yet, I'll have to dl it and check it out.

I went ahead and looked at the demos you linked to in my thread, and most of it was pretty expected for that a3 version from a while back. Stage 1's B was in general pretty bad, and since then I've improved it by giving blu better flanks.

I was interested by stage 2's A, though. I've changed that point significantly since a3 but I've never seen it being defended so well, even if there was an imbalance. Nonetheless it was a really sketchy point that I feel like I've improved, even though it's still my least favorite part of my map.

If you guys are willing to give b0 a shot in the future, you can see whether or not I fixed it.

We'll probably play Slush again, Moosie, it's probably just if we play b0 or b1 or something like that. I'll try to get the pug on b0, though, so you can use the feedback as much as possible.

you should have put a r before the 0 so it could be cp_slush_br0 or cp_slush_bro

Hey, guys, my group is starting to run a little low on maps, so, if you're working on or have a map that you think might work in 6s, let me know and we can test it. Doesn't matter if it's an alpha, I like getting alphas because it gives us time to help direct the map as much as possible, I just ask that Blu side is blue and Red is red and that you're not missing any cube maps because that purple and black texture kind of bugs me.

For a little while, though, I think my pug group will mainly be testing all the new weapons that just came out.

I might actually be getting back into working on koth_trotim1 so I guess I can churn out a new version. Was mostly detailing practice in the end though, layout wasn't really possible to improve without the change being too much work for me

By the way though, do you guys actually play Stopwatch? Which maps?

koth vanguard might have some 6s potential. been good so far in testings. it should have enough height advantages to keep it interesting in comp. give it a try if you feel like it

We've played stopwatch on a few maps. Mostly linear ad because they seem pretty popular, we've played maybe one or two gpit styles and I think slush is the only multistage linear ad map we've played.

I actually grabbed vanguard a couple days ago to try out sometime, it looked pretty good from me just running around it, we'll probably play it as soon as we settle down from seeing what new weapons are balanced and what not.
