del-i-cious :)
love how stage 2 is coming together, also the lighting looks more vivid now :D

2 minor visual nit-picks
- the red wood material in the first screenshot is too saturated for my taste, looks too much out of place
- the clean-cut contrast between the concrete-base at the last point to the dirty displacement looks a bit harsh, maybe let both materials overlap a bit

rock on!

The screenshots you posted... the detailing for me just does not click. It seems to be very bland and boring. I don't know what it is, but this doesn't have the look I want in a map.

But I have to admit, the second screenshot from the bottom (two palm trees in the mid) looks better, it looks more interesting due to the shape of the trees. The wall is very bare though.

Yeah, you were teasing this new jungle theme. But all I see are generic wood mining buildings. :\

technically i was teasing a tropical island type theme, but yeah there isnt' a whole lot that can be done in that vein.

However there was mining done by the aztecs, so the red's decided to utilize and build some stuff in that area, at least that's the explanation i'm using.

You clearly haven't played Meridian before.

This map had promise to be a tropical island theme, but fell flat on it's face.

You know what i miss? the times where people didn´t chime into a quick series of nay-saying without having something positive to say, or at least giving advice on how to steer into a good direction

there are less ambitious projects that float around and get more positive comments and less negative feedback on a regular basis
just saying that you don´t like it is fair and square,
but we are here to give more profound thoughts than fps-banana

nkay, so, here´s my approach
if i were you, i´d dump the village-theme, i played meridian and i really don´t care much for the tropical village theme, it´s broken
(sorry schmitz :/, i like the rest though)
instead i´d concentrate on the aztec-ruins thing, make it an excavation-site.
you´ll get a more consistent and less patchworky result.

I know your still working on this andy, any chance of another release before the end of the contest and getting it on a TF2 maps gameday? I'm itching to see what you've done with it, how it looks now, and how it plays.

If you nail the Aztec theme like Eerie suggested, this map will look awesome.

Yeah it's coming back, it's just that i've been very busy with school and progress has been slow, i'm trying to get rid of all the alpha stuff. It's just taking a while. Probably won't make the contest deadline, but this map will be finished.
