Saturday, the 12th, saw the release of my first ever map: Desert Temple, a map intended to become an Egyptian themed KOTH map where Red and Blu are fighting over a half buried pyramid. The next day during an Imp someone mentioned how there is an overabundance of generic, desert themed KOTH maps. Since Desert Temple was my first map, I didn't expect anyone to have any big expectations, so I figured I could get away with a desert KOTH map. But I want to try and set myself apart, so I began planning out a redesign, shifting the theme to snowy instead of desert. I planned to do the shift for my a2 release, as I already was expecting to have to do a massive overhaul anyways. I was relatively surprised by the feedback I received when my map was eventually playtested, I expected extensive feedback, enough to require a complete overhaul to fix. But the feedback I received was relatively light. This made my happy, my map had far surpassed my own expectations. but it made me question if I should really do a whole redesign with a new theme. So, with that rather lengthy explanation over, I get to the real point, I'm not entirely sure how exactly to proceed so I'm asking anyone who reads this for advice. I set a poll, and if you'd also like to leave an suggestion to further improve both Desert Temple, and any of my maps in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read this and help me out!
