How much time should you spend on hammer every day? Is 12+ solid hours every day healthy for a normal human?

Agreed. You must spend at the very least 23 hours.

Memes aside, you should spend as much time as you want to in hammer. You shouldn't be forcing yourself to map - it's a hobby, not a job.

I personally refrain from long mapping marathons as overworking leads to a lesser quality map. You should take breaks once every while to regather your thoughts and boost overall creativity.

When I have an idea, I just do the idea or I forget it. Doing that process here, and finished the basement area. Just moving onto the surface but gonna take a break since I've been mapping almost non stop on this since 8 am. It is 11pm now...

To avoid forgetting ideas: Write them down.
And no even if you want to, you should not spend twelve damn hours sitting in Hammer. like, seriously, how do you not get sick of it

It's fun to make things in hammer. For me, the problem with writing things down is I write them in a way that seems perfectly clear but when I read them back it's gibberish

If you're questioning if your usage of hammer is healthy to use, then you're not doing enough outside of hammer to feel secure about your health. 12 Hours is absolutely fine if you're managing; eating, sleeping, socializing and exercising well enough.

I'd say that's very borderline fine for any PC activity

Maybe work on those maps and be proud of what you've made? Calling them horrible only harms your self esteem.

That message proves itself. Self harm doesn't do you any good, maybe be happy of what you're able to do instead of saying you can't properly do it?

I cant really be happy because it seems like i need other approve for my maps. If other people like my maps then i like them. I know i need to work on my map to create a good map but i always have the feelings like if I do anything map related people will be disappointed with the map even if i work weeks on it and i ask many questions and I post screen shots of the map in progress. I know i should not be negative but i cant escape that feeling of everyone will be disappointed and dislike the map.

If the fact that the 72hr jam happens TWICE a year says anything, it's that some mappers CAN NOT STOP once they started going. So for an active mapper that somehow gets food, yes, for a social person with a job, no. I wish I could map 12hrs in a row, but school kills me so much, that when I could finally get around to it, I'm dead tired. Except for weekends; I like weekends.

I bet i could stay up the 72 hour to do a map. The full 72 hours. I stayed up all night once before i can do it again.
