While making a map in hammer, if i go to far away from a prop (static) it becomes a blank box, but when i go near it again, it returns to being viewed as a prop. Is there any way I can make it so it is contantly viewed as a prop? Thanks

In Tools > Settings, under 3D Views, there's a slider called "model render distance". Just set that to like 5000 and you should be golden. Make sure you're not trying to run Hammer on a toaster first, though.

Just do what @Pocket said, but I'd suggest you not going further than 2500. That's already a great value and may not cause perf problems on other/bigger maps.

Thanks for the help! My computer is pretty good so I should be fine.
