Hey, so here's an issue that googling has led me to believe is very uncommon. Hammer just straight up isn't creating pointfiles. Clicking on 'load pointfile' just opens the file browser and shows that I only have 4 pointfiles sitting in amongst the vmfs in my mapsrc folder, and they were all created for different maps a while ago.

One possible connection is that pointfiles stopped being created after I first used compilepal to compile a map, as the last time I compiled before using compilepal one was created but I haven't seen one since. Is it possible I'm just dumb and pointfiles are now just automatically saved somewhere else? Or did compilepal break hammer?

If your map is leaking but no pointfile is generated, that can mean there are no entities in the map at all. If there aren't any entities present VBSP doesn't know what part of the map is actually in the void or not, so VBSP reports a leak (but cannot generate a pointfile as there is no entity specifically leaking)
If it's actually compilepal not generating pointfiles, try compiling with the stock editor. You could also try searching your entire filesystem for .lin files to see if they're being saved somewhere else for whatever reason
