Half Life 1 lights.rad file error [FIXED!!!]

    i wanted to make a HL mod, but i cant even get to the map after i run it. here is the compile log

    Don't use the compile tools that come with the Half-Life SDK. They are reeeeally old and the community have made updated ones which are more stable and faster. The best option out there is Vluzacn's compile tools which can be downloaded here: link. Although, if your lights.rad file is having problems, it's probably a lot more useful if you post the contents of that file in addition to your compile log.

    It'd be much more useful to see the the contents of your lights.rad file. BSPs are almost never useful for troubleshooting. Though, have you tried recompiling your map with the updated compile tools?

    Well, if you dont know that, you probably haven't modified it, and it likely isn't the problem. Once again, have you tried compiling with the updated compile tools? In addition to being more stable, they also provide better documentation if something goes wrong. Try compiling with them and see what happens.

    i found a new lights.RAD, what do i do to it? p.s. i think the problem might be more than just the lights.rad since even with no lights or RAD on run, it still wont open the map. it just says

    map change failed: 'level_1' not found on server.

    As I said, your compile tools are horribly outdated. Download updated ones here: ---> link <--- Extract the exes somewhere, then go into the Hammer options, then build programs and set the programs approperiately.
    The CSG program should be set to the newly downloaded hlcsg.exe (or the 64 bit version if you have a 64-bit OS) and so on with all the tools.
