Hrm, can some sort of basic lense-flare effect be added via env_sprites to the solar panels? Even at dusk I think they'd reflect pretty harshly.
Teaser looks good, I like the concrete pylons supporting the playable structure, and the caked mud (overlay? most likely alpha blend) looks pretty great.
Any ETA on the first beta?
They'd only reflect harshly if they're aimed at you, otherwise they'd just reflect the normal sky. And they're all gunna be aimed at the top of the tower so you'll never see the sun in them unless you somehow manage to rocket jump up there (IE never)

If I gave you a date I'd only go and miss it like valve.
Having it be in Furnace Creek makes the texture sexier and makes me have a bit of schoolgirl-esque glee.
Void's texture looks awesome really fits the style.

hey youme i know you're a expirienced mapper, ive seen the same "prob" on yor map as i have, i mean how do i fix that some entities like signs and stuff stop glow purple/black-squared?
To the map: it look pretty good, also the proportions of heights and weidths.

You must place a cubemap entity in the center of each different part of your map, then when you load the map type "mat_specular 0" in console, then "buildcubemaps" after that play on any other map that has cubemaps (any valve map and most customs too) and then load your map again and the pink and black squares should be gone.

Looks pretty nice.
Though I still think putting out a blurry screenshot for a beta release "teaser" was pretty stupid. It works for valve when they have thousands of people clamoring for new maps for them. Not so much when it's 2 guys working on a map together.
Also, "coming 2009?" Does anyone expect it to take more than a year?
Sorry if I sound a bit bitchy.
I have to say, the back walls of the point C building has a really repetitive texture, and the interior of point A (as well as its back walls) looks really dry and bland. And your skybox looks like the one you had in _a3. But yes, this is just a teaser and I'm expecting that you might make more changes in the actual _b1.
We're still detailing it and waiting on some models from Snipergen, so it is definitely not done yet. And it is the same skybox (were you expecting something different? Want to see some changes to it?)
