I've always wanted to make/see a payload map where there's the usual 4 points, but the order in which the points are connected is randomly selected each round. So instead of going A>B>C>Final every round, the track might go B>C>A>Final.

I'm sure it'd be hard as hell to design a map for, and I think Waffe might have attempted it a while back, not sure.

Making the entire fort a cap zone wouldn't balance out a long capture time because it would also mean the enemy could stand anywhere to block it.

I think that it would be much easier to design a map that had two points before final, and could be set out something like this:

And yes this was made in paint, and no I don't feel ashamed

For my entry for the dynamic cp contest I am making this:
into a full-fledged map. There is a robot that will give buffs to its allies if it is not capped by the other team for a certain amount of time (I plan to have it taunt and play the mvm bomb carrier buff sound when the buffs become active). When it travels across the cap points it will instantly capture them for whatever team owns the robot; they cannot be captured by standing on them. I haven't decided the win condition, but it will probably be to capture all the points.

It is actually easy enough to make the cart take a different route each round. Just don't change the route mid round.

Plus, you would have to test each possible route separately to make sure they are fun and balanced (assuming they aren't symmetrical like in your example sketch).

Do this NOW!

Could really use some thoughts on my gamemode idea (on page 1), but I'll give my thoughts on one right now:

On the subject of the robot capture point idea, I think it's fantastic, but I think this minor detail would be cool: The robot that's capping points should be a sentry buster or a bomb-carrying robot. Then, when the robot caps the final point, it explodes, giving some sort of explanation for why the robot is even capping points in the first place.
