Ah yes, valve and their stellar report handling times.

At this point it should be a given that anything that requires Valve's constant attention in order to work is off the table.

While I noticed a vast improvement of sportsmanship and friendliness in Casual Games and while I really appreciate the effort that went into it, I still don't quite understand the point of Casual Skill Levels if the matchmaker isn't going to put you in a game with people of the approximate same level?
This means that a high levelled person can still be lumped together with 5 gibus-Shnipers that have the brain capacity of a road slug and whose brain melts down at the mention of the word "teamwork".

What's the point of the skill level system then? Wasn't it the whole point to put newbs together so they can learn without getting rolled and put experienced players together so they can play without being dragged down by a horde of 5 Shpies?

It's strange because I did notice I had less of these gibus-Shniper and Shpee spammers in my Casual Games but I fail to see how that comes if skill level isnt taken into account when matching...

THOSE are the points that you want to argue, if you are going to debate do it properly please.

Strangely enough, the main webpage for MyM under Casual still says "you'll be matched into an unranked 12v12 game with players of similar skill". So unless it is tracking skill via something entirely different from the Casual Levelling, something Valve claims they miscommunicated as influencing the matchmaker, I don't see how that is a promise that can be made on the update page. Learning whether or not Casual Matchmaking also takes into account your Competitive ranking would help going forward. Might motivate me to start ranking Comp more so my Casual games aren't full of brand new hacker accounts :/

Am I the only one who actually likes the Casual ranks?

It gives a nice little meaningless goal for those who don't want to play Competitive. It also shows how much someone has played, so when you join you can see a (somewhat) accurate view of how good your team / the enemy team is. I really don't understand why people want casual to basically be competitive without circumstances and want you to be matched with people of your own skill level, playing with people who were of varying skill levels was one thing I found fun in the original pubs. Anyway, thats just my take on it.

There is probably a "hidden" MMR of sorts. Much like how there is for unranked Dota 2 and probably unranked Overwatch.
