It might be easier to make certain kind of themed maps than others. I can imagine making maps with green nature is difficult, since I don't see them as oftenMy first released map was a deathrun map I inspired by a indistrual theme

Any starting tips, for a newbie like me?
Maybe an Attack/defend map is gonna be easier to make, since it doesn't have to be mirrored, or..? And thanks a lotAlright, gonna make this quick. I got a couple tips to give.
1) Don't worry about detailing. Start with just basic design using dev textures before you start worrying about making an art pass.
2) Draw out ideas before mapping. It's literally rough drafting your map before putting it in hammer.
3) Be prepared for feedback. Not all of it will be constructive, and not all of it will be what you want to hear, but it does teach you what people like to see in a map.
To the contrary, I would say symmetrical maps are easier to make. You only have to design and build half the map, and flipping the map to create the other half is quite easy.Maybe an Attack/defend map is gonna be easier to make, since it doesn't have to be mirrored, or..? And thanks a lot
