Will there actually be a thread when you are "done" with it in a couple days? or has this one just superseded that plan. I have a long list but I was waiting for that thread you spoke of.

After having a bit more experience with the new look I have a few notes (some of which have already been mentioned, but I'm mentioning them again darnit!)

1. Nerdboy's suggestion was awesome. Here it is again:
We should use this, just my opinion:

And this

2. I really don't like the hidden signatures. Some users actually have some really useful/interesting links in their sigs and it's a shame not to just have them visible. I know for a fact that I'll probably never expand the signatures to take a look at them. The hidden signatures also really don't save on vertical space. My suggestion: If you really hate large, distracting, unruly signatures then make some more stringent guidelines for them. Only one 100x350 image per signature allowed. Signatures can only be as long as about 5 lines of text (including images). That kind of thing.

3. The TF2Maps.net logo is horribly obscured with all the characters up there. I really don't mind there being 5 characters at a time, but they really cover up too much of the actual logo text.

4. The caution stripes and the yellow dashes around the menu bar at the top don't really seem to fit. They just seem noisy and add clutter to an otherwise slick interface. I'd get rid of 'em.

5. I'd still suggest increasing the default size of the font in forum posts. The light on dark text would be a tad more easily readable that way.

That's it. I still love it overall. It just needs some tweaking.

All of this. Especially the font size increase for the message body. Light on dark isn't comfortable to read at that small of a size.

Also, the forums no longer automatically increase their width depending on resolution. I have some pretty large sections of empty space on either side at 1600x800 whereas I didn't before.

I can't say I'm a fan. The layout itself is nice, and I love the new banner.

But I hate the dark. I really do. The orange and white felt like TF2maps. This feels like some other generic gaming forum with dark themes that hurt your eyes. White is happy, dark is down.
I'll be fine if you just add the old theme back in as a choice or make the whole colour scheme similar to the old happy one. But currently I really dislike it. It feels hostile and uninviting.

I totally second that. Just an alternative skin that goes back to the lovely color scheme. I just prefer a lighter colored scheme as it looks more friendly and you all are a bunch of friendly dudes and dudettes to me :blushing:

Also I activated "Show signatures" in the options but still ahve to click on each and every "View signature" in order to see. Oh well I could go on for days - I'm German...

Please think about adding an alternative forum style that brings the former color scheme. Would be much much much appreciated.
In terms of profesionalismsness, I think the older one was more of that. Like someone mentioned this looks like any other gaming website

I like the new design, even if I did come on here and think I must have clicked a wrong link or something.

Anyway, I think the brown and grays really make this more like an actual TF2 based site, the whites didn't really fit with the theme. It seems like everything has just been improved that little bit more and I like how the map screenshots are now at the side of the map information; it makes the site much more appealing to look at.

I did like the white because it's a "positive" color, so I think it would be great if we had multiple themes.

I kinda preferred the lighter tone as well. It's still alright though.
The layout changes and new icons are for the better IMO.

Umm? Is it bad if the site never changed for me?
PS, I want to keep the old version of the site.

I would prefer more light theme, these dark colours make forums "heavy". So it is not that easy to read for some reason.

Cor, this is groovy. XD
I love it!

+Kudos

Edit: on the spot idea = why don't you allow people to choose between the new and old versions of the site? There are accounts and stuff, so it might not be that hard? Don't flame me for noob-iness in this matter.

Edit02: Just read through rest of thread. I agree for the site-choosun thing.
