nice model, but imho the face looks a bit to generic, like manequins, the modeler should put in some characteristics, but maybe that will come with the texture

Being able to choose your gender in TF2 would be interesting, but I worry it would mess up the silhouette concept valve has for the classes.... unless you wanted to give the girls the same figure as the guys. But then you have manly girls, and what's the point?

I'd sacrifice that for the sake of variety, as long as you can force the default male models on client side.

Besides, it looks like this guy is doing a pretty good job at trying to maintain the proper silhouette while still making it feminine.

Also, having two unique silhouettes per class is not a problem, as long as they do in fact remain unique. The problem occurs if one class's silhouette starts looking too much like that of another class.

Agreed.

Variety and functionality would be good.

Great work on maintaing the silhouette. Will you be doing a female heavy too? (Doubt you'll need a new voice for her) :p

I plan on doing all of them until people tell me to stop or when I'm no longer needed.
I've got lots of ideas for funny lines for the heavy though!

TF2 needs gender bending so that it can follow rule 34 of the internet.
Rule 75-76 is being used here.
