this is getting popular lol. make moar. played pl_retawdab it on reddit, and it felt shorter and smaller for some reason.

Series 2 is already well underway..

ctf_trof2.. pl_hsurdlog.. and I haven't decided on the third map..

I was thinking most likely I'll do badlands.. being a popular comp map it might be nice to offer a mirrored map that could also be used for comp play..

I was avoiding doing any 5cp maps cause the are semi mirrored already, when I first started on trof2 I was pleased with how well it worked..

Hydro might be nice, but Im not a fan of the original..

Steel and Egypt I wont do.. Out of respect, I wont be touching any of the community maps that have gone official..

Haha, I just imagine the next series.

tc_ordyh.

ctf_llimwas

ctf_llew

cp_egrog (I think this one would be the most confusing).

cp_tpyge

cp_leets

The list goes on.

Isn't it pointless to mirror maps that are already mirrored?
You know like well and sawmill

In some cases. Well is pretty much mirrored down the middle making it pretty much pointless to mirror. Sawmill works as either side is a rotated copy of the other and not actually mirrored.

There are exceptions though, Nucleus for example.

Nucleus uses reflective symmetry, so when the map is flipped either horizontally or vertically the result is simply switching the teams in terms of their navigation. So if you are a Red player who usually exits spawn to the left, you would now go right just as you would if playing as Blu in the original map. It would still mess with you if you only usually play for one team, but it would be a much more subtle 'mindfuck'. Maybe it would be even more unsettling having the feeling that something isn't right but not being sure what.

Pipleline is another example..

Hydro, being asymmetrical would work well..

Im still leaning towards Badlands being the 3rd map for series 2 though..

Khuntza will flip you. Flip you for real.

2fort2furious appears to have added these to their rotation; we played Retawdab yesterday. It was weird. It was like I was playing the old classic for the first time all over again.

I think you should do Badlands, but also consider Gorge. It's one of my favourite maps. :p

Also, I get where you're coming from with the "not mirroring community maps gone official". Maybe you could get permission if you get a strong reaction for a specific one though.

EDIT: I knew that it would work for Well and Sawmill which is why I mentioned them. :p

I realy wonder if a mirrored 2fort would do well... knowing most of the 2fort snipers they cant even adjust to a diffirent map. The same map mirrored should be fun... they suddenly cant find the battlements xD

These look absolutely awesome!

We're doing an all day thing of running just these maps on the 19th December and probably going to put them into rotation too. \o/

In the mirrored badwater do you need to push the cart from the end to the start?
