A distraction from the very borderline well, uh, you know Cartoon Crushes thread. How many of you mappers are Musos? I myself have been playing Guitar and Drums for about 4 years (and am above average skill in the latter, if I do say so myself :p) I play in my School's Orchestra, Jazz Band and any Rock Fests that come around. I also perform in the Schools Musicals (I was Peter in this years Jesus Christ Superstar) So TF2M, what about you? Inb4Penguin'smixes.

I play the piano and other stuff with keys. Next year I'm going to a boarding school with focus on music. I also know the basics of bass, been playing it for a year

I've been playing guitar on and off for 5 years. Always fun to jam every now and again. :)

I used to play piano for 6 years, but I quit after I found myself having to play the same songs over and over again. I do still make music with FL Studio though - I made this yesterday.

Warning!
There. You were warned.

Me and some friends had delusions of grandeur about making some hardcore death metal band about 7 years ago, grew our hair out, and sold pop cans for scrap metal to get a full set of drums, bass, guitar. After that ended up not working out I recently picked up the bass from my friend's place and sometimes I pick it up and pluck strings, but I'm by no means good at it, and have since experienced a pretty massive shift in taste since then. At the very least though it's blue, and makes an excellent decoration.

I learned to play the guitar, bass and piano in school and I got pretty good in those 3 years.

But I never stuck with anything. If anything I'd love to learn to play the drums, but those don't really produce any ear candy on their own, which means I'd have to organize with some friends to play music, which was never how I wanted to spend my free time.

Maybe I'll get a guitar some day.

I've played the cello for about 7 years now, and guitar for about 5. I've been meaning to get a band together, but I know one bassist, two drummers, and one singer, and they are already in a decent band, and the other drummer is an annoying little shit. so yeah.

I played the clarinet in my school band from grades 5 through 7, but quit because it was more of a chore than actually fun.

For the last ~5 1/2 years I've been composing with MIDI (started out self-teaching), and I'm taking courses at my community college to turn that skill into a degree. I probably won't turn it into a career since there are so very few openings for that kind of thing, but I'll keep it as a hobby and have the degree for the sake of having SOME degree. :p (I'm gonna go to university afterwards, but that's at least a year or two out, and I want something to show for all this time I've spent at the community college.)

I self taught myself bass over a period of 3 years and had a couple ska bands over that time... but for the past 2 years i havn't really touched it. I really wanted to learn double bass afterwards too.
