Hello! Here you will find all of the content necessary for creating a map for "Zombie Infection", a community-created game mode officially featured in Scream Fortress 2023.
Included is an example map file ("zi_example.vmf"), as well as all models, materials, sounds, particles, and scripts necessary for making the game mode function.
"zi_example.vmf" contains all entities necessary for a Zombie infection map, alongside a particle manifest, soundscript, and English mission file. All of the entities in this map file can be placed directly into your own map to get it running Zombie Infection. If you're using Hammer++, the VMF has helpful text entities explaining what does what. To get the other example files to work, they should be renamed from "zi_example_" to the name of your own map and placed in your "tf/maps/" folder.
The contents of the included "custom" folder should be added to your own "custom" folder found in "Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf". EVERYTHING in these folders should be packed into your map file! The easiest way to do this is with CompilePal using the "includedir" parameter to select both the "Infection" and "Infection Class Portraits" folder. The class icons replace existing class icons in the game, so you'll probably want to only enable or include this mod in your game files when compiling a Zombie Infection map.
With the entities included and everything else packed, your map is ready to go! Good luck, and have fun.
