Tumby Pickup Prefabs 1.0
Prefabs for item pickups. Uses displacements for patch textures.
A small collection of very simple prefabs for quickly placing health kits and ammo packs.
Each prefab includes a patch texture underneath the pickup, made with a non-solid displacement. Don't worry, it won't z-fight or cause any issues! The patch is also sized accordingly to the size of the pickup. As an example, the full health kit has a larger patch than the small one. Lastly, every prefab is encased in a skip brush to make it as easy as possible to move around after having placed it.
Make sure to enable "Texture Lock" (the little button that says "tl" on it) if you want to move the prefab around! Otherwise, the patch texture will be misaligned.
Alternatively, select the displacement (or the entire prefab), open the "Face Edit Sheet" (the big button displaying a cube with a red, a green and a blue texture on it) and click the "Fit" or "C" button to center the texture again.
Or delete the prefab and place a new one, lol.
While this download is intended as a prefab, you could just as easily use these as instances instead. There are no logic entities to worry about, after all.
Install by going to your "Team Fortress 2\bin" folder and then merging the "Prefabs" folder.
You should end up with the following folder structure:
Team Fortress 2
└ bin
└ Prefabs
└ Tumby TF2 - Pickups
├ Ammopack Full - Dark Blue.vmf
├ Ammopack Full - Light Red.vmf
├ Ammopack Medium - Dark Blue.vmf
├ Ammopack Medium - Light Red.vmf
├ Ammopack Small - Dark Blue.vmf
├ Ammopack Small - Light Red.vmf
├ Healthkit Full - White.vmf
├ Healthkit Medium - White.vmf
└ Healthkit Small - White.vmf
If you are unhappy with the provided texture choices, simply copy and rename the vmf files and edit them to your liking. You should only need to change the texture used on the displacement.
