some shots from my just-finished pf_kijun_b2, parkour fortress gamemode. Basically a scout jump map with mirror's edge abilities (wall run, ledge grab, sliding, pipe climbing, ziplining)

Always good to have another map in the rotation. Mine is coming along well too, but real life has been body-slamming me for the last month.

I know, they would look a lot better with displacements right? but I had a good reason for not doing them this time. The wall-running ability needs relatively flat walls to work, so I just decided to leave them flat. I DID however get to use some displacements ziplining down the final corridor though

mechatheslag.net hosts a bunch of alternate gamemodes for TF2. It's a fun sandbox for mappers for sure.

Thinking of making my deathpit to be more eye candy rather than just a box. The planks on the middle are looking odd and hanging in the air. Anyone have better ideas for them or do I just add supports?

It probably wouldn't look so odd if the environment lighting matched the skybox ambience. Or if you used non-desert rocks in your non-desert theme.

The lighting and fog match, they are just copied from Thunder Mountain.

I'm going to spin the map too I think.

Really? I guess it's just how the mountain is in shadow despite how the map seems to be lit in that one screenshot. If the skybox seems odd, i would suggest adding some of those skybox pine bunches. You'll be surprised how much a few trees can complete a scenes aesthetics.
