One of displcements looks squarey where it meets the rock. The displacement nearest to the buildings

That looks soooo phenomenal. TF2 straight to the point, yet awesomely different. Looks nothing like the map in the progress thread. Another level of skill, definitely. Legendary :D

what distances should I make the LOD's for? I'm thinking 70, 150, 256. Does that sound right?
I used sculptris on the handle which, compared to zbrush, is like sculpting with your mind, amazing!

Fun fact: LoD numbers aren't distances. They are... I'll let Interlopers explain it. But yeah, 70/150/256 sounds okay. What's the polycount on the un-LoD'd version?

I hope those are unit numbers and not the .qc LOD numbers you're gonna use.

70 is a hella long distance. 256 is absurd.

For comparison the w_sniperrifle has 2 lod models and it switches at 14 and 25:

Which are very reasonable distances.

All player models have 5 lod models and they switch at 11, 22, 33, 44, 55
So having your first weapons lod swtich at 70 feels a little backwards!

Thanks ravidge, I wasn't thinking straight when I posted that. Those numbers are definitely too large, and I misunderstood what the number meant (thought it was a distance).

I like the shape of that. May I suggest adding grated floor above the displacements between the edge of the floor and the rock wall/computers.
