excuse me while I run to restart my pc that DIDN"T GIVE ME THE FUCKING CHOICE TO RESTART IT!!!
Its called Windows 7 RC. Download it!
What he said. Really Win7 is the megatweaked Vista version
windows 7 is ftw
I don't want it until it's released. I heard that if it breaks I'll have to get a new computer.
Wow who ever told you that is a moron, just download it and love it.
im confused. really hope this was sarcasm.
Aghhh i hate it
I have Vista, but it never forced me to restart automatically. I just set the computer to tell me if there's an update, and I decide when I should be updating it.
On another note, I made Vista into a memory-intensive Windows 98, layout-wise.
Change the Windows Update settings to not automagically download/install updates. Problem solved.
Note to everyone else: Windows 7 does the same thing.
And so did XP. Here is how you disable it for XP. There is probably a similar was for both Vista and 7, if you still want to automatically download and install updates but don't want the automatic restart.
how dare you. windows7 is god's gift to men!
Im dwldn 64 bit Windows 7 now. yay for me
this dwld page is really slow to load. just keep getting the green cricle thingy in the centre, spinning for the last 5minutes. halp.
windows 7 is made of win. I had one of the beta versions and even while still in development it was so much more amazing than vista. I was running them both on the same exact machine (each OS on a separate HDD) and 7 was so much faster and more efficient.
I just followed that guide and found exactly the same setting in Windows 7, so that method should work for Vista and 7 too.
You can only download it using IE.
Quickie note about IE tab (a useful and convenient plugin) but it has a memory leak. It'll eat into your memory until you close Firefox (even switching back to Firefox thru IE tab will not reduce the RAM used), so unless you must use IE tab in Firefox, I'd rather suggest using IE instead for places or sites that NEEDS you to use IE (like Windows Update and whatnot).
I used Firefox once and it worked fine...
OP: This is Windows Vista's way of telling yout that 18 hours in front of the computer is enough already.
