This is a huge shock, as Spain are without doubt the best footballing side in the world at the moment.

Will you Yanks be watching the final?

Coming from a person who doesn't even like soccer but whose country pretty much seems to revolve around it like a sick religion (I am damn sick of hearing about Ronaldo) ... and coming from the next door neighbors of Spain with whom we don't have exactly a good relationship...

    WHAT THE HELL SPAIN? :p

Not to be insulting to the Yanks, but... it's the USA... on soccer... against Spain... I mean... *mindblown*

Playing sports is one thing, that's fine. But I really can't be interested in watching other people play them. The enormous fuss people make about them just reduces my interest further.

If you notice that detail was in the same line as " whose country pretty much seems to revolve around it like a sick religion (I am damn sick of hearing about Ronaldo) ... and coming from the next door neighbors of Spain". Or in other words, I'm Portuguese and I'm damn sick of hearing about Ronaldo and soccer in general.

I'm going to agree with Boojum. Playing is great, but this, is just stupid.

and just imagine if all the money spent on/in sporting leagues was funneled into scientific research. The 21st century would be as full of advancement as the 20th was.
and considering we went from telegrams, no cars and no planes to internet, spaceflight and countless cured diseases...

    </idealism> :(
