Um... am I supposed to be here?

Hello everyone, my name is GalaxyPhantomUV (You can just call me Galaxy) and I am an SFM artist and TF2 player looking to get into the mapping community for both applications. I want to learn how to make maps to create custom maps that I can animate in in SFM, as well as possibly an "ultimate" training map that I can use for TF2. For my start here on this website, I would like to know if this is the right place for me. Is this the correct website for what I hope to achieve? I am fairly experienced in both (400 hours in SFM and nearing 1200 hours in TF2 - still an F2P :3), and I am looking to dip my toes a little deeper into the fields of mapping than I have in the past.

Sure, I'd say you are in the right place. We don't have much SFM discussion, but there are some people who do it. If you hang out in the Steam chat room you might meet some of them.

What's this ultimate training map you mention?

A training map, eh? In the vain of tr_walkway? Or something entirely new?

I mean like tr_walkway, but you could train every class individually in their strengths. For example, tanking sentry damage as engi, learning how to use splash more effectively as solly, and especially aiming healing crossbow darts for med. Thins like that. Still don't have the full idea for every class, but that's just the general idea.

Would take a fair bit of scripting/flagging and time, but I'm sure there'll be quite a few here willing to test, including me.
