I usually do the trim work myself but decided to finally give Joiner a try and things didn't seem to work out so well. The documentation that comes with it seems to lack some info. No matter what building I cover with the slime texture Joiner only partially builds brushes for the building itself and also creates a huge tower off to the side that isn't relevant to anything. I might be missing something with this tool.

Is there a tutorial out there that can help? I'm not letting this hold me up from working on a map but if I can get some detailing done with this thing then why not? :)

I remember seeing this. From what i understand the slime is supposed to fill the volume of the room, and will build supports for that area. I will go read the joiner post though. (Idk, but I would consider it good practice to provide a link when referencing a specific thread)

Yea, use a slime textured brush to fill up the room, run joiner, set the settings, run your .vmf through it, it'll create a new .vmf where you can then copy/paste in the new joints and move around as needed.

If you want to go the extra road here and save on TJuncts - then take your new supports, import into a new vmf with it centered on the the origin run them through propper, then put the props into your map.

You may end up with like, 20 m_supports_* and whatnot, but hey, don't have to worry about Tjuncts and helps with optimization.

It's kinda hard to link read me file in a folder on my desktop which isn't a thread or post. Lol

Seems the info I'm missing is in that post here I found through Google (not sure why the search here couldn't find it). An admin of mine linked the download link to me but nothing else. (Great admin but sometimes absent minded lol).

Thanks for the extra info from both of you to help. I'll give this another shot in the morning. ;)
