Team Fortress 2 Update Released

An update to Team Fortress 2 has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2. The major changes include:
  • Added the DeutschLAN 2015 tournament medals
  • Fixed a client crash related to fonts
  • Fixed a client crash for users who had model quality set to low on maps with static prop lightmaps (thanks to Egan for the detailed report and test case)
  • Fixed a bug where Strange Dalokohs Bars were incorrectly counting Allied Healing Done events as Allies Extinguished
  • Strange Sandviches can now accept Allies Extinguished strange parts
  • Updated the materials and model for The Rotation Sensation
  • Updated the localization files
  • PASS Time update
    • If the jack is neutral for too long, it will automatically respawn
    • If a player holds the jack for too long, teammates can steal the jack from that player
    • Catching and intercepting a tossed jack is slightly easier
    • Demoman can no longer charge or detonate while holding the jack
    • Enabled melee-only for sudden death mode
    • Updated pass_warehouse to fix some spots where the jack could get stuck

Thanks to all the people that identified this bug, and especially Egan for figuring out precisely what was going on. This means static prop lightmaps are actually usable now. Before they were just a liability.

Holy heck, thank the lords for this! Now I can play almost any map without problems (well, framerate is still an issue but hey, baby steps)

Glad to see Invasion being made an official update, hopefully we get at least one map from the contest made official.

I added a saucer and posters in my map just for fun. Im excited to see what will happen in this update, perhaps more MvM content finally?

It seems we have spotted the aliens.. These weird creatures seem to glow in a red color and spell out a similar word associated with humans as "Error" Quite interesting indeed!

What's going on? Isn't that from the MvA contest?
Did Valve purchase the MvA contest?
Was it actually secretly an official Valve contest? Or did Valve just happen to think of the same things and decided to use the MvA content to save time and effort?

Or Did I miss something in the MvA contest announcement about a year ago?

I cannot believe people didn't realise what was going on. :s

@takabuschik The contest was organised by the guys behind the Invasion update. Valve had nothing to do with it. This is an entirely community update*


*I actually don't know much about it so Valve may or may not have done stuff, but you should assume that it's entirely community done unless someone more in-the-know tells you otherwise.
