Strange problem with TF2

I am having a strange problem with TF2. Whenever I search for servers, it is really hard to find a game. Most of the servers that show up have 0 players in them, and the ones with players have too high of a ping. Also, sometimes I will join a game that says it has players, but when I am in the server, there is no one there.

1. Many servers are, in fact, empty.
2. Move closer to some servers or get a better internet connection.
3. Some servers have fake player counts.

but the thing is, I used to be able to play it just fine. my ping was good and servers were full. has this game really become that unpopular?

Do you occasionally find good servers with people that you can play on?

Where exactly are you from and what times are you playing it exactly?

I've never had a problem and i've played on servers that don't usually empty untill 5am.

nvm, I fixed it. it seems that the two filters 'has users playing' and 'is not full' weren't checked. I didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it did

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering what the deal is with the fake player counts. One day I entered three different servers in a row that said they were mostly full, but when I got in they were empty. It's hard enough to find a good server with a low ping and default spawn times, but now we have to sort through the ones that are lying.
